.@CHANEL'S 'ONCE AND FOREVER': Kristen Stewart as Coco Chanel in Karl Lagerfeld's Short Film

Kristen Stewart is front and center in Chanel mogul Karl Lagerfeld's short film, Once and Forever. The film premieres at the next Métiers d’Arts show on December 1 in Rome.

Stewart did a spread with Harper's Bazaar's Laura Brown, who will also appear in the short film. See the scans and info from Variety below.

 

Karl Lagerfeld is likewise broadening his cast. Following in his grand tradition of directing films to accompany Chanel’s Metiers d’Art shows, the creative director’s newest short, debuting in Rome on Dec. 1, will feature “Twilight” megastar Kristen Stewart. Stewart, who’s appeared in Chanel print campaigns, will now play a fastidious actress impersonating the brand’s founder, Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel. Geraldine Chaplin will revive the more mature Coco she’s played in previous films — taking over after Keira Knightley personified a younger version of the visionary, shown opening her first French shop in 2013’s “Once Upon a Time.”

Lagerfeld’s shorts have grown increasingly cinematic, 2014’s “Reincarnation” featuring original music by Pharrell Williams in the account of how Coco found inspiration from an Austrian resort employee’s jacket. As for why he continues to tell fashion stories through film, Lagerfeld explained to WWD: “It’s a modern way to communicate.”

LIFE: See the Second Trailer Starring Robert Pattinson and Dane DeHaan

Synopsis from Indiewire:

Robert Pattinson continues to explore and expand his acting abilities post-"Twilight" by taking on LIFE photographer Dennis Stock, who gave the world candid photographs of the late actor James Dean, including his most iconic image in a rain-drenched New York. "Life" is about the friendship between the "East of Eden" actor and the photographer as they travel cross-country and promises to be an intimate portrait of these two figures.

The trailer features DeHaan as the perpetually youthful Dean, the original cinematic rebel whose life was cut short in a tragic car accident. Nonetheless, Dean managed to leave behind an impressive filmography and his death thrust him into the spotlight as a legend. The trailer sheds some light into Dean's life, while also telling the story of a short friendship.
