Kristen talked to KCRW's 'The Treatment' about the film, tattoos and meeting Patti Smith in a podcast today:

In Clouds of Sils Maria, Kristen Stewart plays Valentine, an assistant to veteran actress Maria Enders, played by Juliette Binoche. "That dynamic felt very true to a lot of relationships that I've seen exist in this business," she says of her relationship to Binoche's character, which involved her playing a multitude of roles, from mother to confident to friend and sister, even crush.

The supporting (literally) role also required her to do something outside of her comfort zone by playing a character whose life isn't completely detailed for the audience. With her roles in Twilight, Snow White and the Huntsman, she says "typically my goal is to divulge everything." She also talks about her relationship with Patty Smith, and making moves towards directing her first short film.
