MENTIONS: Jesse Eisenberg Talks AMERICAN ULTRA, Woody Allen Project with Kristen Stewart

Kristen Stewart's American Ultra co-star Jesse Eisenberg talked with ComingSoon to discuss the trailer and reuniting with her, his character in the movie, and the Woody Allen project they are both filming in August. Read below: 

CS: You’ve been in the play on Broadway for a while and I just saw the trailer for “American Ultra” so it’s fun to see you reuniting with Kristen after “Adventureland.” 

Eisenberg: It’s quite a different tone. 

CS: Was it just a coincidence that you ended up doing another movie together? 

Eisenberg: Yeah, pretty coincidental, but we like each other. We work a similar way and have a similar sense of humor. She’s like Jason [Segal, Jesse's co-star in The End of the Tour] in that way, too. We like different things that are maybe a little heightened but try to kind of play it maybe realistically, which we did in this movie. And “American Ultra” too. It’s not comparable to this movie, but it’s very heightened but our acting was real. 

CS: You’ve done a lot of dramas and comedies, so do you have a preference at this point or do you just try to vary it? 

Eisenberg: No, anytime there’s a good character. Like “American Ultra” is a movie I never thought I would be in because it’s more violent than the stuff I’m usually comfortable with, but the character is so great. I thought that this character is as good as a character that would be in a kitchen sink drama, an independent drama. It’s a really well put-together role. No, good characters tend to transcend genre in a way that very few other jobs can do. The same guy who can do the special FX on “American Ultra” could probably never set foot on “The End of the Tour” just because he would have nothing to do–maybe little things but it would be boring–but my job can transcend that. If you’re creating a Metropolis world, it probably would be boring to paint out some billboard in “The End of the Tour.” My job is pretty much the same. 

CS: Is it true you’re doing another movie with Woody Allen? 

Eisenberg: Yeah that’s in August. 

CS: How much do you know about those movie before you do them? You’ve worked with him before so there’s maybe less pressure. 

Eisenberg: Yeah, they gave me the script for one day so I got to read it. This is like three months ago or so, so I read it for the day and then you show up. A little bit less pressure, exactly. I know what I’m in for, yeah.

Original post (7/29/15): Kristen Stewart's film Equals will have its world premiere at the 72nd Venice Film Festival!!

The Venice Film Festival runs from September 2-12, 2015 on Venice Lido.

The Film Stage reported:

Following yesterday’s TIFF announcement, Venice have answered with their slate, which shares some titles, including The Danish Girl, Beasts of No Nation, Remember, Spotlight, Anomalisa, and Black Mass. However, they also have a great batch of premieres, featuring Drake Doremus‘ Kristen Stewart-led Equals and Luca Guadagnino‘s highly-anticipated A Bigger Splash with Tilda Swinton and Ralph Fiennes, as well as new films from Aleksandr Sokurov, Marco Bellocchio, and more.

The Venice Film Festival runs from September 2-12, 2015 on Venice Lido.

The Film Stage reported:

The movie will be at the Horizons sections of the festival. From the official site, the Orizzonti section is:
An international competition reserved to a maximum of 20 films, dedicated to films that represent the latest aesthetic and expressive trends in international cinema, with special attention to debut films, young talents who are not yet firmly established, indie features, as well as works that address specific genres and current production, with the aim of innovating and demonstrating creative originality.
The Orizzonti section contains a selection of competing short films lasting a maximum of 20 minutes, selected on the basis of criteria such as quality and originality of language and expression. 
Only feature-length and short films presented as world premieres at the Venice Film Festival will be admitted.

AMERICAN ULTRA: Watch Jesse Eisenberg, Kristen Stewart and Josh Horowitz on MTV After Hours!!

MTV did a hilarious stoner interview with Kristen Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg for their movie American Ultra. Josh Horowitz was so funny!!

The American Ultra stars think hands are like, so weird. 

Man, aren’t hands, like…weird? We think so. The stars of “American Ultra,” Kristen Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg sure think so, too. We called the duo in to be the guests on our Stoner Talk Show (regular host Woody Harrelson was unavailable, so MTV News’ Josh Horowitz and his Unicorns On Fleek shirt graciously agreed to step in), and had a free-form conversation with them. Does Stewart think “Twilight” is a good movie to watch while high? Is celebrating 4/20 outdated or cool in a nostalgic sort of way? Are unicorns really on fleek? And again: fingers. SO WEIRD, RIGHT?

Hayley Williams talked about her "Best Vocalist" win from the Alternative Press Music Awards, Paramore's next album, and New Found Glory's "Vicious Love" with AP:

Congratulations on your win, how do you feel?  

Awesome! I don't know if I've ever won an award for vocals specifically, so it's kinda cool. I think it's cool that there's a category for vocals here, especially in this scene. It felt good. It was really nice. 

What did you think of your competition? 

I was actually just psyched to be in that lineup of people, because I pretty much know all of them. It was really cool to see Lynn Gunn. I love that [PVRIS are] killing Warped Tour right now. I'm watching from afar a little bit. It's nice that there's another girl that sings really strongly over guitars, and it's really translating from stage well. I was—oh my God, I almost said I was "gunning" for her, and then I realized her last name is Gunn. That was so cheesy! 

Very nice, very nice. You didn't even try. 

 I didn't! 

Any information you can give us on the next Paramore album? 

Oh, I can't give you any information on it! Is that helpful? [Laughs.] We really have been home working slowly. It feels better that way. Most albums—between albums—for Paramore were always so rushed. Even between Brand New Eyes and self-titled, there was more time in between than what is normal for us, but we put out an EP, we kept touring. So it feels good to work slowly and see what comes out of it that way. 

You said the self-titled era is over. So what's next for Paramore? 

I mean, that's the scary and amazing part. To be honest, I'm still in mourning a little over the self-titled era. It was such a happy, wonderful time for our band. Our band's been through a lot of ups and downs, so it was nice to just have those three years of exciting adventures. I'm definitely in mourning, but I'm really excited to see what happens next, because I never would've predicted the self-titled record. That makes me hopeful for the future. 

How did you and New Found Glory decide "Vicious Love" was the song you wanted to collaborate on? 

I knew they wanted a female vocal on that song particularly. When I heard that, I was like, "Here I am! I'm Hayley. From Paramore." But seriously, I'm such a fan. Like, beyond Chad, I love those guys so much. From day one when I met them on Warped Tour, we've just become such good friends with them over the last few years. I really wanted to do it just for personal reasons, like just that friendship-hang situation, but I love the song. 

So they already knew that was the song they wanted. I know it's inspired by your relationship. Do you think you wanted to show a different side of that relationship? 

Yeah! Even with "Still Into You," and "The Only Exception" as well, actually. To me personally, it's more convicting to talk about the stuff that's hard about love, because I don't think I really believed in it when I started to experience it. I like to keep grounded in that, and that it feels very impossible. Sometimes even when it's happening, it still feels impossible. 

I think people relate to that a little bit more. 

That's good, I like that. Because the fairytale is nice and all, but it truly doesn't exist. I don't mean that in a pessimistic way. 

Sometimes the reality can be just as nice. 

Exactly! I love the reality. 

I'm just here to give you your pep talk. 

[Laughs.] Thank you, thank you.

Life director Anton Corbijn talked about Robert Pattinson's work in the film with these media outlets at the Guanajuato Film Festival in Mexico.

“Although many related and pigeonhole the name of Robert Pattinson in the Twilight series, there are others, such as Dutch director Anton Corbijn who see beyond the stigma and / or social labels.

So it is not unreasonable offer made British actor Dennis Stock’s role, that famous photographer 50s that caught James Dean three months before his death in the film Life.

“After I felt Twilight Robert tried to choose characters away from this whole saga.

“He wants to prove to the world that is a real actor can do challenging roles and that reminded me of Dennis Stock, a photographer in his early wanted to check I was good at what he did. That part was something I found in common between the two.

“In fact, when I was offered the script I did not care because I did not want to make a film about James Dean, however, when I began to see that the story was more about the photographer, I felt identified because basically that’s what I’ve been doing since 40 years ago, “he said Corbijn.”

There is no release date as yet for Mexico.

“For Robert Pattinson after Twilight had shown that he wanted to remove the image of easy film actor, he was chosen to star in Life , directed by Anton Corbijn.

On the tape plays professional photographer Dennis Stock, who came to have a friendly relationship with James Dean, legend of cinema. That closeness was born after the image Stock Dean took in 1955.

“I had noticed that he took papers out of the ordinary ( Bel Ami and Cosmopolis ) wanting to see that it was a real actor; and good in his life he is chased by photographers, and now he must act as one, “the director recalled yesterday. …”

#AWKIF10: Paramore's Debut Album Turns 10!!

 

It's the tenth anniversary of Paramore's debut album, All We Know is Falling! The album's lineup was former drummer Zac Farro, former lead guitarist Josh Farro, former rhythm guitarist Jason Bynum, and 15 year old lead singer Hayley Williams. Bassist Jeremy Davis had to leave the band due to personal issues, so the band had dedicated the album on him, thus is why the album cover has his shadow upon the iconic red couch. While it's certified gold today, the 2005 album had its struggles on the Billboard charts during its debut.

Music Facts:

• The album reached No. 8 on the UK Rock Chart. 
• In the USA, it reached No. 30 on Billboard '​s Heatseekers Chart, but did not chart on the Billboard 200.
• The album produced three singles, "Pressure", "Emergency", and "All We Know"
• The album then became a sleeper success after the success of the band's second album, Riot!. 

When I first heard of Paramore back in 2007, I didn't even know this album existed lol. I'd thought their second album RIOT! was their first album. But now I know and I'm so proud of all of their success with AWKIF. Happy 10 years, AWKIF!

"I was super into watching stoner movies when I was too young—Half Baked, the classics. I was a little aspiring stoner."

"I think Cheech & Chong are definitely smoking real weed in that movie. It is actually, really, truly about smoking pot."

"It's not, like, universally loved, but I really thought it
 was fucking hilarious. I like all those actors, and they're letting
it all out, and it's really a trip."

"It's a really good stoner movie that Anna Faris did.
 She's so hilarious. She plays this, like, imbecile—this really, really dumb stoner girl—and it's just a day in her life."
