'COME SWIM' PHOTOS: Kristen Stewart's Directorial Debut Going to Cannes in May!!

KRISTEN STEWART'S DIRECTORIAL DEBUT 'COME SWIM' IS GOING TO CANNES IN MAY!!!!! 


Sorry for the all-caps, but I'm so excited for this news!! Refinery29, the company who so graciously is the reason how and why Kristen has been able to direct her short for their Shatterbox Anthology series, has announced that Come Swim is going to Cannes this May. See their report, as well as some behind the scenes photos and a FIRST TEASER TRAILER!!!

Since bursting onto the Hollywood scene as the universe's favorite mortal girl in Twilight, Kristen Stewart has always shone as an industry game-changer, even when surrounded by a sea of brooding, rakish vampires. As an actor, she's conquered a series of high-profile roles after Bella Swan, including parts in star-studded films ranging from Woody Allen's nostalgic romp through Tinseltown, Café Society, and Oscar darling Still Alice. She's also the first American to win France's prestigious César award for her performance in 2014's Clouds of Sils Maria. 

Now, Stewart is joining the growing number of Hollywood women who've moved behind the camera, partnering with Refinery29's Shatterbox Anthology for her directorial début, Come Swim. A surrealist journey through the imagination's wild currents, Come Swim conjures a stunningly kaleidoscopic portrait of one man's emotional interior — unbounded darkness and desire. Shatterbox is proud to present Stewart's remarkably innovative short film, which will premiere this week at the Sundance Film Festival, and is also headed to Cannes in May. Catch the trailer above.

A thriller, a psychological drama, a fantasy, a mix of genres. That is how the film ‘Personal Shopper’ has been described. The star is Kristen Stewart. It is the second successive time the American was cast by the director Olivier Assayas.

Stewart won a César Award for Best Supporting Actress in his 2014 film ‘Sils Maria’.

Olivier Assayas wrote and directed Personal Shopper. It has been described as “wreckless and audacious” while Kristen Stewart’s performance was hailed as ““tremendous”“.

“I wanted to tell the story of someone who is rebuilding their life, someone who after a bereavement is rebuilding and I feel like those painters who use the colours they need here and there. So I feel like making something of a collage by which I mean all the tools I use are good all the means are good to tell what I want to tell and to make the viewer feel what I want him or her to feel,” the director told euronews.

Stewart plays Maureen a personal shopper to a demanding German super model. She is also a medium who is trying to connect with her dead brother.

“This is someone who is alone and just a person available to communicate with about someone who is not there. That is her brother’s friend who lives and works in Oman and with whom she communicates through Skype. She does research on the internet that becomes an extension of our own memory or knowledge,” explained Olivier Assayas.

Much of the success of the film is down to Kristen Stewart’s performance.

“She inspires the film, and then I can tell it in a different way, but the reality is that she inspired this character, I think she also gave me the ability to do it, that is, I think I would not have ventured into a project, a story, that has to do with the fantastic, with the invisible, where there are somewhat abstract things that I had to handle.

And that, I would not have done it if I did not know that I had an actress who brings everything back to reality, someone incredibly realistic, physical, materialistic,” concluded the director.


At Cannes, Assayas shared the Best Director Award with Cristian Mungiu for his film Graduation.

LIZZIE: First Still and More Info on Kristen Stewart and Chloe Sevigny's Murder Mystery Biopic

The American folk tale gets an unexpected new twist in Craig William Macneill's new film.

Lizzie Borden took an axe / And gave her mother forty whacks / When she saw what she had done / She gave her father forty-one.

The story of Lizzie Borden and the brutal murder of her father and stepmother has long been one of early America’s signature — and very bloody — folk tales, and one that has inspired scads of adaptations for both the stage and screen, including a 1965 opera and a recent Lifetime made-for-TV movie and its subsequent limited series sequel, both starring Christina Ricci as the accused murderer.

But popular culture isn’t done with Lizzie yet, and a new film from “The Boy” director Craig William Macneill and newbie screenwriter Bryce Kass (he previously penned the 2014 TV movie “Outlaw Prophet: Warren Jeffs”) looks to revisit the enduring tale, with a brand new twist. The film stars Chloe Sevigny as Lizzie, with Kristen Stewart taking a turn as the Borden maid Bridget Sullivan, and will reportedly use the pair’s relationship as a new lens from which to explore the crimes.

The new look at the Borden mythos is billed as a “gothic psychological thriller with an indelible romance at its core.” The film will explore “the events that led up to the notorious murders of the Borden family — and reveals the many layers of the strange, fragile woman who stood accused of their brutal murder” and will pick up “when Bridget Sullivan, a young maid, comes to work for the Borden family, [and] Lizzie finds a sympathetic and kindred spirit, and what begins as innocent companionship eventually escalates into attraction, love and bloody vengeance.”

“Lizzie” also stars Fiona Shaw, Jamey Sheridan, Kim Dickens, Denis O’Hare and Jeff Perry.

The film just wrapped principle production in Savannah, Georgia, and has celebrated by releasing a first look image at the film. There’s no blood, but definitely some dead people. Take a look.

“Lizzie” has not yet been picked up for distribution, but will likely arrive sometime in 2017.

It's so strange how this movie was just announced and now it's filming is done. Crazy!! I don't know the Lizzie story very well, but the photo gives off a very ominous feeling. Spooky...

See some new/old photos of Kristen Stewart and Olivier Assayas filming Personal Shopper at the Chanel Rue Cambon Paris store. 

Two years on from "Sils Maria", Olivier Assayas worked with the American actress in Paris on his new film “Personal Shopper”. The Maison Chanel supports the director by backing this latest project.


In addition to this involvement, some scenes has been shot in the rue Cambon premises. “I am a stickler for real-life settings in my films. There are only a handful of scenes in Personal Shopper that set a tone carried through the whole movie. To be able to film in Chanel's historic locations plus use Chanel clothing and accessories were crucial parts of making the film and her character credible," explains the director.

VIDEO: PBS NewsHour Shows Behind the Scenes of Paramore Recording Fifth Album!!

Finally we get a taste of what is to come from Paramore's fifth album. PBS NewsHour filmed some new footage of the band recording their studio album in RCA Studio A in downtown Nashville. Being that Nashville is the epicenter of country music, and music in general, it makes sense of why they wanted to show us there. Also, it's the band's beloved hometown, so that's even more amazing.

I'm glad that we actually get to hear a small portion of what's to come from Paramore's album. Even if it's just guitarist Taylor York playing tambourine, at least it's something!!
